Sorry, life has been busy.
I had a birthday so now I'm 4. The hoomans gave me a hamburger and stared at me while singing all at once. I was a bit confused. I was like, "Do I just eat this or am I supposed to join you?" Sometimes I sing with Mary, so it was possible. But in the end the burger just smelled so good that I ignored what was around me and started munching. No one was mad.
I have my hoomans trained to take me out twice a day on walks--first thing in the morning and late at night after the small hoomans are in bed. I love my night walk best of all because that's when I can hunt and chase. I have decided that I do not like birds to eat so I leave those alone. But I'll take a bun bun any time I can catch one.
I like to play tug of war. I like to chase balls. The hoomans tell me to bring the ball back to them but I am not really in to that part of the game.

Imagine What I Could Do with Hands
The twins tossed a water bottle onto the carpet before school. Mom didn't think that was very nice of them, but have you seen this living room? It's not like you could even tell at first. I don't know why they don't use a bowl like I do.
I happen to know that water bottles make a very fun crunchy sound. So when I got bored I began to play! But it still had the cap on so all I could do is roll it. That's when I got a super idea. I gripped the lid in my mouth and twisted the cap off with my teeth! It only took three tries. To my surprise, it was still half full of water. Then I said to myself, "Katie, let's play hooman." So I drank that water like a hooman!
Boy, getting a trickle of water out seemed to take forever. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. I'd take a nice big bowl over a water bottle any day.

Mission Accomplished
You will never believe this but . . . I actually caught a chipmunk! We pulled up the driveway and I saw it by the rosemary bush. Tyce said, "Go get it, girl!" so I jumped out the window and pounced. I was so excited I pulled its leg off. But wouldn't you know, that thing still scrambled around. Everyone around me keep shrieking, "Ew! Gross! Augh! No!" Finally I picked it up and it stopped. It was tasty. I buried it in the backyard. But I dig it back up every day to look at it because I am very proud of myself.

What the World Needs Now
....is more bacon. And turkey. And chicken. Why do they feed me that boring crunchy stuff in a bowl?
I ate a lollipop. I was proud I could hold it but the whole time I wished it was a steak.

Back from Vacation
I went to Utah for vacation but when I'm there I have to stay outside. Or worse--the garage. At least the grandparents have a ginormous backyard with lots of critters to hunt. But the garage is cold and boring, you know. I barked and scratched to be let in, but if you can believe it . . . those people didn't come to get me! I had to resort to howling! That got their attention.
Thank goodness Mary carries me downstairs every night when Grandma isn't looking. I am always quiet and I never bark. In fact, I never even whine when Mary hugs me like a stuffed animal all night long.
I loved playing there outside during the day. Everything smelled different and exciting! But I have to admit there's nothing so welcome and comforting as HOME.

The Chase
I spend a huge part of my day watching for chipmunks. I have never caught one....it is my new obsession. I've eaten rabbits and even mockingbirds but those little rodents elude me.
